Be satisfied with what you’re good at; be good at what you love.
I have an M.A. in Linguistics from Florida International University. I write, teach, dance, study languages, sing, and draw, often in that order of priority. I have many many many dreams and goals that I would like to realize in my very short human life, the greatest of which is to be a published novelist.
I spent six months of 2009 studying at Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto, Japan. And I never got over it.
From July 2012 to 2013 I worked in Naju, South Korea as an English teaching assistant with the Fulbright program. That was hard to get over, too.
Since then I’ve been living in Osaka, Japan as an English conversation instructor, and moonlighting as a sci-fi/fantasy novelist. Why bother even trying to get over that awesomeness? 😉
